getting so patronising with their answers. This is not a professional site and do not wish to be spoken down to.

Could you accuse me of overeacting? Please say in an unpatronising way. Thank you.

You could be mistaking their patronization for empathy. It's obviously difficult to convey any sort of feeling or emotion with text so give 'em some leeway. The top contributors probably do not have any intention whatsoever of speaking down at you so just take their answers at face value. It is what it is. Don't over-analyze.

Yes patronizing could be an apt result of winning a position in any social structure. Professional or not. When people are told they are "special", "top dogs", "in the lead", or any other position of recognition they do tend to let it go to their head.
Unfortunately, there are only a few men and women who are able to keep their wits & wisdom about them as they succeed.
Ego is a funny thing, it affects every one in a different manner. Then again it could be that these people are called top contributors because that is their only area of expertise and they have no other way of expressing themselves except as they have always done in the past. If it worked before it should work now ...right?
There are many professionals here on the site, they may not have the gift of communicating their knowledge to others effectivly, and that could be a reason why they aren't chosen as best answers often enough to become a " top contributer".
This means that you really have to read what the answer says, and where the B.S. is.

You might be overracting, and yet sometimes the answers seem curt. I think the top contributors try to make answers that will appeal to a broad range of people so that they can maintain their status. Not sure, I am far from being anything like a top contributor. Y/A is fun, entertaining and enjoyable. I learn things here and like being able to try and help people with my life experiences and knowledge, plus I look a lot of things up and it has enhanced my searching ability. Don't get down, you will come to like it too. Just give it a little longer and try different topics at times. Hopes this helps and does not seem preachy, not meant that way.

Perhaps for some reason theyre getting annoyed with having to answer all these questions, only they havnt realised this isnt a game and they dont win anything by answering the most questions. lol.

... or maybe its their homepage and they havnt figured out how to get off it yet.

How else do you expect people with so many answers to be?
Opinionated and patronising often go hand in hand.

Am I being patronising?

No, I'm sick of being patronised by antisocial cybergeeks myself. They really ought to get out and meet people instead of worrying about their precious little orange badges being taken away.

yeah i agree, theres a certain someone masquerading as a doctor, yeah right like any british gp has the time to sit here all day, or perhaps thats why i can never get a blooming docs appointment.

It's easy to hang around Polls & Surveys, answer any old rubbish and pick up an orange badge. It's uncanny that Orange Badges are the sort of badge they hand out in the UK for disabled people. Magic or coincidence, you decide.

No one can tell you that what you are feeling is wrong. It is simply how you feel and we all have a right to our feelings and opinions. Sorry if you've been spoken down to, some people are rude and disrespectful.

Perhapse they feel a sence of ownership of the sight. I'm only here for feedback but often I recieve those. Now I.m also here for them- I'm numbing myself from them by dealing with them.
