Oscar, You are correct from your view point. I would say to you, there is more. judging by your answer it appears you have heard of unconditional love & have opinions about it but have not experienced unity with God in unconditional love within your heart.

When I was interacting with Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It is pure universal love. You have to personally enjoy that experience. Dr.Frank Brownaski, when had a chance to be near Saibaba experienced the vibrations and saw with his own eyes, the aura of Saibaba extending beyond the campus. An adept in Kirlean photography, Dr Brownaski, took photos of many saints, leaders, kings and queens throughout the globe. To his consternation, none of the auras extended beyond 2 to 3 feet. Various colours represent the various emotions of the human beings. But Baba's aura was rose and pink and he exhibited even golden and silver auras. It extended more than 30 to 40 feet beyond the campus. When Baba physically moved His aura also moved along with Him. Dr.Barownaski concluded that Saibaba is supra human.

Conditional love comes with conditions - what each must do. If there are no conditions, ie unconditional then there are no restrictions on what each should do. It is very difficult not to have conditions or expectations at least to some degree. For example love without conditions may mean you are free to physically hurt, or cheat, or just show up whenever you feel like it. Even my pets have expectations - like I will love and feed them, walk them, respect their needs as well as my own.

A very good question and one which made me really wonder if unconditional love is actually possible!

Sweetie, I would ask you to internally reference the sensation you had as a child, of your mother holding you when asking this question. this could be a useful anchor for your.

Mothers do, generally speaking, unconditionally love their babies, this is where the cellular memory can exist at its most intense for us, during this physical life... i guess this is part of God's design at a very basic level.

I say this, even if a person like me has to their credit, a catalogue of unpleasant circumstances and incidents which could potentially eclipse this sensation, memory or internal knowledge for me.

A reflection of this nature can be found in certain aspects of the eternal Universe, thus leaving out any Blame on the preconception some people have of Our Supreme God.

I suppose there are also yogic masters, acharyas, and their aspirants who have [comparatively speaking] deeper and older cellular recollection and clarity, to which they can access - that could confirm this sensation of unconditional love that does exist in that realm.

Hoping you can keep up your quest for love's integration !

Be around people who unconditionally love themselves and see how it feels/looks/sounds etc.

With this consciousness, we are exactly where we need to be, even when acting out emotional indignation thru atheism or cynicism (this is just a forgotten feeling of unconditional love).

I don't believe anyone is alive today without having this seed [of unconditional love] resonating within them now.

Don't forget how easy it is to be in the lightest zone! It's not a scientific mystery.

Or get yourself some healing, there's so much out there, it's not beyond you, or is it ?

Yours, in service with unconditional blessings.

I have always experienced unconditional love. It did not matter what choices I had made. I knew that inspite of the wrong choices I had made, my family were always there for me when I needed them. I feel sorry for those people who haven't had this experience, because everyone deserves to be accepted for who and what they are, despite the the things they may do or say.

I agree with you. Actually, only God gives unconditional love. Human love, even from parents, spouses, etc. is actually conditional, even though it's popularly made to look like it's unconditional. As far as human love goes, maybe a mother's love for her newborn baby is the closest thing you get to unconditional love.

God loves and forgives no matter how terrible the sins are that you commit, no matter how bad your shortcomings are. Yes, I have experienced that love... It's real, and it's wonderful.

"Although my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up, adopt me as His child"

~Unconditional love is the most asinine concept I have ever heard of. Think about what it means. Think about how it cheapens the concept of love. Love has to be earned and maintained. Unconditional love means that if you love someone, it doesn't matter how poorly you are treaty by that lover, how many times you get spit on and stabbed in the back or how many times you are cheated on, the love will endure. You will love the child that treats you like dirt, steals from you, and physically attacks you just on the basis of shared genes, or you will love the parent that abuses you sexually, physically or emotionally and neglects you and fails to provide food, shelter and nurturing during adolescence and puberty for the same sharing of genes. That's pretty sick.

Come to think of it, linking unconditional love to your chosen mythology makes eminently good sense. To love a god that will give you free will then punish you for using it, that is all powerful put will not intervene in natural disasters (and is credited with causing them), who refuses or is incapable of all the ills and woes he has created by being unable or unwilling to control the creation, who claims to love all his creations but threatens at every turn to destroy them and follows through on the threats with regularity, such a love is pretty sick too.

Your god says he loves you but he'll squash you like a bug if you step out of line (then he looks the other way while your neighbor squashes you like a bug instead) and you love him unconditionally for that. All on the false promise of a reward when you're dead. Lucky for me I'll be worm food when I'm dead and don't need the crutch. Lucky for you you'll be worm food when your dead and you'll never know that you wasted your like chasing that carrot on the stick.

Edit: Your question was about unconditional love. I repeat, that is a ludicrous concept. As to 'experiencing god' I gave up on the mythology about the same time I learned that Superman comics were not true. Even so, unconditional love of a god as evil, malevolent and sadistic as the one depicted in the Judeo-christian bible borders on mental illness and the same devotion to a real person who exhibitted similar traits would be diagnosed as psychotic.

sorry to burst you bubble but unconditional love comes from real people. Your mother, wife, kids, they come first. God is not going to comfort you when you have a hard day at work, you may think he is, but its all in your head.

Unconditional love begins and ends with unconditional love for yourself first, last and always.
You cannot give to others what you do not already possess.
