Why do good people have such bad luck?

It seems that the smart, attractive, intelligent people I know- the good people that seem to do the right thing always have sauch unfortunate, hard things happen to them in this life. Is it true that maybe cause these people are so strong they are only dealt what they can handle?

Thomas Jefferson said that the more i prepare, the more luck i seem to have. This is a state of mind and nothing else, if you are a negative person then more bad things will happen. So put on happy face and you will be good. But i don't believe in good or bad luck, you have to make your own luck in this world.

Are you sure you aren't just more "aware" of those particular people because you care about them more? Or perhaps unconsciously you think "good" people should have less "bad" things happen to them than the "bad" people?

I think the "bad" things happen pretty regularly to just about everyone. "Luck" is really just random stuff happening to people. Sometimes you have "good" luck and sometimes you have "bad" luck.

Some "good" people you know may get a lot of "bad" luck, but that just means some "bad" people you don't know have had a lot of "bad" luck as well.

Do the good people you know also make good decisions? I found in some people's cases, the people just weren't good decision-makers. So their "bad luck" ended up being because they weren't good with money decisions, or perhaps with relationship decisions (marital, job supervisors, type of friends).

I believe God knows how much you can handle and would never give you more than that, so think of it as a positive thing. I have a friend who once told me to pray that God gives me the uglies luck because we can't have everything!

Tip - watch 'the secret'. You may be a good person, but you need to have a positive attitude. If you keep thinking - OMG bad things keep happening to me they will keep happening. Visualise what you want in the world and focus on the good and don't focus on things that you don't want to happen.
If you keep saying to yourself its not going to work - nothing good is ever going to happen - it won't!
