I started my periods when I was 8 years old, I am now 17 and they have never been regular..i can have one period that lasts 3 days a week for a year, or 2 a year or last year i didnt have any, i havent had one this year so far either.
I have seen my doctor on several occasions, he sent me for a scan and they couldnt see anything, he done some tests for a hormone inbalence, and they came back normal..all he says he can do is put me on the pill but they make me bleed non stop..i have tried about5-6 different brands and they all do the same..can anyone suggest anything it is really starting to get stupid now..

Well when they put me on the pill they make me stay on it for 6 months before trying a different brand, i have been on them for years now, but I stopped taking them in December because i just cannot keep bleeding.

I dont know where else i can get a second opinion, Im in Essex and doctors here are basically full to the brink, or you have to pay and we cannot afford it.

Get a second opinion. And go to a female doctor... I think they understand better because they go through it.

I would recommend getting another opinion from someone that does not share the same office as the dr that you currently see.

I would also recommend considering seeing an endocrinologist (a dr who treats hormone diseases and disorders) because they have tests that they can do to pick up what might have been missed by your regular dr.

As for the birth control pill, it takes about 3 months for the body to adjust to being on it which is why sometimes some women bleed while on them. Just wanted to mention this in case it should be brought up again in the future.

woah.. never heard such girlie probs before.

i'm a girl and i also dealing with similar prob, but not like the one y're having. my period last as long as 7 days (never exceed) and as shorter as 3 days (normally 5 days). i also awaited for as long as 2 months that i didn't experienced any period.

advices i could give was, u had done good job for taking necesary pills doctors had give u and eventhogh it does not turns out right, i think it wasn't anything wrong with u.

maybe, u'r prob will sort itself out when u're married. U'r hormone'll get normal and periods in normal behaviour.

hope this'll help..

Go back to your doctor and demand answers, or change doctors, he sounds rubbish. If its a big problem in your life you need answers!

There isnt much anyone on here can do for you, they don't know your body. Get checked out thoroughly.

I hope it works out for you

You might be wise to try another doctor, possibly a female one.In some cases they might recommend a D&C, which is nothing to worry about, they just clean you up inside.
