Just I get sick of doing all the updates and stuff. Seems like a waste of time.

I update Windows. It's the spyware, and anti-virus updates that annoy me. And running scans all the time, etc...

I just wasn't sure if Windows XP can get those bad things if it's in limited account.

Chances are much lower as limited accounts does not allow codes to run, but doing so limits your XP ability to perform everyday tasks such as i installing software updates or new programs etc.

Yes.
solution one is to install.
Windows Defender
Spybot
Adaware
and run every week or two.

Solution 2
Partition your drive in two,
Partition one for operating system and software
Partition two for working files.
Then install DEEP FREEZE.
This problem will reset your machine everytime you reboot so that you will only have a virus or spyware until the next reboot.
Just make sure you have no virus or spyware before hand.

well having a limited account is just virtually the same as having a computer administrator, but having less control over your computer and settings :)

u want protection from viruses?

try avg free edition :)
its totally free and it has unlimitted use
and its takes less then seconds to update.
avg has protected my computer a number of times in the past.

Note: when you install it, it will be out of date.
So just update it and ur computer is protected :)

Note: avg free edition only protects your computer from viruses and trojans. not against spyware and hackers :(

updates are not a waste of time, they offer security patches which you need in order to protect your computer, your antivirus, spyware protection is only effective if windows is uptodate and your protection software is updated and running
