Self-affirmations are a proven method of convincing yourself of something. They yield results! If you read any self-help book, you'll see the first step is almost ALWAYS to repeat motivational phrases several times - write them down, say them in your head, say them out loud if you can and yep, look at yourself in the mirror and say them.

This is the same with almost anything you want to achieve in life. Whether it be confidence, overcoming depression, weight loss, quitting smoking.... the list goes on. You tell yourself something enough times, you begin to believe it.

Most people - when they look into the mirror - only see all the floors - usually rate themselves at about 3 > 4 out of 10.

By using the daily dose of mirror - it will boost your ego (not so much you confidence)

The method:
Stand or sit next to a mirror but don't look into it
close your eyes and remember a person who payed you a well meant compliment
Get their image as well

Make that image brighter stronger and hear the words clearer and fuller and louder.

Now look into the mirror making that persons words your own (IE - You look Beautiful becomes I look Beautiful)

do that each morning before you head out into the world to take all the yuck that is thrown at you.

Look at people around you that are confident, and notice how they behave and react to situations in which you need to be confident

beats the hell out of me.

damn that burns

maybe it forces them to confront their insecure self and talk to it. maybe it has something to do with the eyes.

I always look at my eyes when I'm in front of a mirror. maybe it helps people get used to eyes watching them when they talk
