My son needs a windscreen for his car.Suzuki swift "v" reg.

Would he be able to get one from a scrappy?
If not does anyone know how much for a new one to be fitted?

yeh it should be heaps cheaper, theyr not that hard to fit, you put clothes line in the rubber and washing up liquid the3 pul it out to get the rubber over the new windscreen

No reason why not. You will have to make sure that its the right one and it comes up to MOT spec. No cracks more than 10mm and no cracks at all in the line of vision. One of the problems that you might encounter is that bigger scrap yards seem to have a habit of picking cars up with cranes and throwing them across their site making the windscreens useless. There are some good tips for fitting it in the answers too.

Hopefully, you could. It all depends on whether one is available or not. Call the salvage yard and see if they can locate it. For a fee, they may install it for him.

best place to find used parts online is www.car-parts.com they allow a large selection of junkyards in your local area that show weather they have one or not.

no , considering the weather sealant required, try autoglass in yellow pages and they will give you a quote , but as a DIY not recommended as it could fail next MOT
