Go to different appliance stores and buy a scratch and dent model. Know that the pedestals are separate and are expensive. The electronic motherboard can go out frequently and may take weeks before the service people on the warranty even show up. My Whirlpool Duet has broken down 4 times in 4 years. I'm running out of warranty I'm disabled and I recommend getting a washer with regular knobs. The digital crap goes out a lot and will cost about 500 dollars to fix in the future. I love my front loader when it works.

I would try putting something in the Free Ads papers, you might have more chance with something going out locally than on here but worth a try.

Check the local press too, there are charities that collect and deliver unwanted machines to people who need them like yourself.
We have quite a few here, one called Percy but not sure who there is in your area.

Here's a link to a group called freecycle.org

I've included the one for the UK.

Good luck!
