Is it illegal in california to mount stuffs on your dash?

I heared that some states bans the use of dash/windshield mounted gadgets such as mp3 players and gps navigation systems. Is california one of that state?

CA prohibits the use of video player/screen in the front seats. If you have DVD player, it just be linked so it's only visible to the backseats. Else, it is illegal.

However, there are no laws (that I know of) that prohibits other gadgets such as GPS/Nav and such.

California is just not to friendly to change of any sort. I would move to another state!
