I am a big fan of the tonight show w/ Jay Leno. I must say that I am not too thrilled that Conan O'Brian is gonna be Jay's replacement. I think a Hollywood directoer should seriously make a biopic on the life/career of of Red Skelton, and Conan would be super in the lead role. The resmblence is totally uncanny! I don't have anything against Conan, I think hes an ok host on his show. And if my idea never gets picked up by Hollywood thats fine. I just know that when Red Skelton passed away some years ago it wasn't like others who have passed on that were apart of Hollywood. It just seemed hollow.

If you were a fan of Red Skelton feel free to to respond.

I remember Red - very fondly as a matter of fact. I used to watch his show each week with my parents, and the characters he did were just hilarious. Who could ever forget Klem Kadiddlehopper and Freddy the Freeloader? I agree with you that Conan would probably be good in the role. I like his show, but I'm not sure he's ready for an earlier audience, or if an earlier audience is ready for him, but it's a really nice suggestion. It would be nice of someone picked it up. Especially if they gave you the credit.

Red Skelton was a true talent and a legend
in not only comedy but also in all of Americana.
As Red, always said at the end of his show.

God Bless...

I LOVED Red Skelton---now he was funny!!!
Comics etc today just aren't the same, I thinks the
old ones were just awesome and no need for
sex talk or crass vulgar language, it was all how you
interrpetted it. Red was one of the best--thats for sure!

Yah, I love his style. People do remember him. I see things like an old episode of I Love Lucy where he and Lucy do this Vaudeville act where they are hobos and I always giggle and think what a talented guy he was. There are a lot of old actors and comedians that dont get due credit, but there are still people who remember them. That doesnt mean that they are any less talented.
