Nothing, game 1 was a fluke, the better team will win the series.

I think Dallas needs to make huge adjustments. First, putting George on Davis was a bad idea. George doesn't have the speed of Davis. I think putting Stackhouse in for Terry is a good move because Stackhouse has the size, speed, and strength to match up with Davis. Terry isn't big enough to disturb Davis.
Another key is to keep GSW out of the lane. GSW likes to drive and kick for open 3's or just drive to score. They have no one inside that can truly hurt the Mavs. Any team that keeps the Warriors out of the paint will win.
Dirk really needs to step up his game. He shot 4-16 and scored only 15. GSW can match up a lot of guys on Dirk on the perimeter. But Harrington doesn't have the strength inside to rattle Dirk. Dirk needs to play more in the paint so he can score easier baskets.
Dampier and Diop need to be involved offensively. Both need the ball because no one on GSW can guard them inside. Both guys can wear out Harrington.
The last key for Dallas is to slow the game down. Slowing the game means to not turn the ball over and getting the ball inside. GSW lives off of turnovers and they do a great job of making teams pay for their miscues.
As for GSW, they need to keep attacking the basket, shoot more 3's, keep the game at a high pace, and force turnovers.
Dallas didn't go to the NBA Finals for no reason. They will win Game 2 and eventually win the series. Don't jump on the GSW bandwagon just because they won Game 1.

Dear W X,
i think for Golden State to win they have to start well. Dallas will be extra amped up and Golden State can not afford to fall behind early. They have to continue to contain Dirk and do a good job rebounding and limiting second chance points. In game 1 they could have been up by way more, and Baron Davis' hot shooting carried them.
i think they also need some balance- because Golden State has a lot of excellent players but they can't just depend on one player - Baron had an incredible Game 1 but he has yet to prove that he can be that Go to guy in tight games consistently (like a Kobe or Wade).
i think if Nowitzki is cold Dallas will start to feel some pressure down the stretch because he's there "go-to" guy and even though historically other players like Terry, Stackhouse, and Howard have stepped up they aren't really guys that can make the big shots down the stretch.
The Warriors also have to play loose (and have that underdog mentality-- nobody respects us- but we believe in ourselves kind of thing).
i think if the Warriors can take game 2 or game 3 they will really believe they can beat Dallas and will be very dangerous. i'm not sure beyond Dallas, they just match up very well.
Dallas i think has to establish the inside game early and go to Dirk. If they can especially get up early- that will force the Warriors to shoot from the perimeter a lot leading to long rebounds and fast breaks- which with the home crowd can put them on long runs.

Dallas will regroup and beat Golden State.
It's not really about offense or defense. Instead of playing mind games with Don Nelson over smaller lineups, Avery Johnson just needs to go back to what he does best and play the same lineups that won 67 games this season. It was silly that he even bothered to try to field a small lineup. A top-tier coach doesn't do that. A top-tier coach sticks to his strengths and expolits them on the other team. Watch for Dallas to win 4 in a row. They are too deep and too good on defense to fall in the first round.

I wouldnt disagree with this assertion! They do look a splash out of style. in spite of the undeniable fact that GS has made them look this type formerly! they only reason suits with the small ball. asserting this, i don't problem that the Mavs will lose this series they are the proper group interior the NBA for a reason. they'll make the required transformations to be triumphant. somebody reported the Mavs not being pushed like this formerly, properly that I disagree! there have been extra then a handful of video games the Mavs would win interior the proper minutes and each so often seconds this year. Its a very gritty group, and one would each and every so often over -look that actuality by way of fact they gained sixty seven video games. They didnt merely wallop communities such as you will think of. Davis replaced into nevertheless held in examine that sport, of direction you in no way know what would have occurred interior the 4th nevertheless so its confusing to assert. yet I even have seen each and every sport the Mavs have performed this year, i know how they respond to adversity, and back ONE purpose in concepts this summer season! The universal season replaced into actually the pre-season and now the playoffs are the genuine season to the Mavs this year!

as a longtime hornets fan i've learned you can't trust baron davis. he's not a leader. golden state is a team that when they get hot, they can beat anybody. but theyre not a very sound defensive team, and when they fall behind all they do is throw up a bunch of 3's to try to get back in. dallas had a bad offensive game, and golden state state jumped on them. dallas is not going to panic, they'll settle down and control the flow of the game. dirk will have to shoot better obviously, he won't have a repeat of game 1. nellie's experienced, but his players aren't. theyre hyped about finally being in the playoffs but i can see them panicking and playing out of control if the game starts to get away from them.

looks to me like Dallas has to play the game the way they are best suited...take dampier (switching in diop) and dirk although they are slower and play to get an edge on the boards and limit the layups and fast breaks by GS, play a three man rotation of faster players (harris, howard, terry, stackhouse) and overplay the passing lanes, I realize this is gambling but you have to try to limit the run happy warriors somehow... The warriors have to do more of the same, play fearlessly and loose...also overplay the passing lanes to get more break opportunities and use their footspeed to send fast doubles at dirk and the bigger players who handle the ball poorly...they are playing like a team with nothing to lose and that is always hard to beat...all the pressure will be on Dallas to win game two...

No worries here in Dallas
AJ said he just wanted to try some new things out in game 1 against a team he knows they will beat, rather than try them out in the next few rounds.
Mavs will start to dominate and if theres any Golden State idiots that actually believe they will win.....
I'll bet any of you, the Mavs take this series. Just send me an email.

Mavs would win this. Two years ago, the Mavs lost the first to games to the Rockets but managed to hold on and go to the next round. And I'm sure Devin Harris is a real X-factor and the only strategy Don Nelson and Jason Richardson can come up with is to injure him. What bunch if sisis. Die Don Nelson!!! Die!!!
