This alarm is hard-wired into the house. I removed the casing and I can't find where it would take a battery...just that it is hard-wired. It is beeping every minute. Does anyone know how I can get this to stop? I had a builder over today and he blew a breaker. Maybe that messed up the alarm? I can't sleep!!! Can anyone help me???

Even if it's hard wired, it should have a battery back-up in case the power goes off, it will still wake you up if there's a fire. Hope you find it, if not, then call the manufacturer and ask them where it is and what it looks like.

I do believe that if it's beeping then it is not getting enough power. Look again for a battery backup (there should be one in case the power goes out). If you are certain that there is no place for a battery then the contractor probably disconnected something by accident. This could have occurred anywhere along the circuit.
If you can't figure it out in a few minutes, I would just suggest disconnecting the whole thing and going to sleep.

We have a hard wired alarm too. When the battery gets low it beeps. Keep checking for that battery!

Even hard wired detectors have a battery, which is sometimes hard to find. I had to practically smash mine apart to find it. Keep looking.

maybe it has a battery back-up in case of a power outage? If that battery is going flat...it will beep consistantly and annoyingly.
