1968,February 16: John, George and their wives fly to Rishikesh, India, for an extended study of transcendental meditation with the Maharishi. Paul, Ringo and their significant others arrive four days later.
April 12: John, George and their wives suddenly leave Rishikesh after allegations surfaced that the Maharishi made advances towards some of the female guests. Paul, Ringo and their significant others had already left.

In 1967 The Beatles learned Transcendental Meditation, and in early 1968 for varying lengths of time attended a Transcendental Meditation teacher training course in Rishikesh, India, under Maharishi’s supervision.
