I am writing a paper on effects of imperialism in Southeast Asia. I have to include political, economic, cultural, and social effects. What would be considered a social change? New schools, better health, better transportation, etc… would these be considered social changes??

"Social" means that it pertains to "people." Social changes involve things like attitudes towards women, or attitudes towards smoking (as an example), or other behaviors. Did the attitudes towards women change from before imperialism "came" to Southeast Asia? What about sexual behavior? Look into how people view people expressing dissent towards the government.

What issues have affected how PEOPLE live, behave, think, believe. These are the "social changes" which you are being asked to look into.

I not sure, but, once America helped the countries the women became more explicit it their sexuality and Porno became more abundant. But, that just how we are and the rest of the world think it OK.
I guess that was social change. The influence we had over other countries when we freed them.
