Just about the only place we don't use is in the fridge. They last as long as listed on package too. Have only had to replace ones hit with a moving object so far.

I dropped my electric bill about $30 a month by switching to CFLs in most of the house.

I only wish they were easier to find in 3-way - compact. The regular 3way CFL sticks out of the lamp (upturned) and looks like a radar gun. And in a small flame shaped bulb that I need for my chandelier.

And yes, its been about three years for some of them and I haven't changed one yet....

I have all but two changed and I haven't changed those because the shades won't fit the new ones. Incandescent bulbs will be outlawed here (Canada) in 2008.

Actualy LED lighting is more efficent and uses less electricity.

That is why a lot of cities are replacing traffic lights and street lights with LED lighting.
