Baron Davis is an underrated player and has been since he's kind of been in a KG/Kobe Bryant situation for years. He's not on a good team and actually has never been on a contender team and has never had astounding numbers for people to remember him amongst other superstars like Dwyane Wade or Lebron. He also never came into the league with any hype and that's probably how he'll leave it. It's a shame because he really is one of the better players in the NBA
I hope the Warriors upset the Mavs in the first round not just for the pride of Golden State (whose franchise really needs some motivation) but also for the other underdogs in the playoffs. Baron Davis and Jason Richardson deserve some spotlight after so many great games they've played but were always upstaged by the antics of Kobe or Dirk Nowitzki on the same night.

Baron Davis has been one of the top point guards in the league. The reason why he hasn't been noticed so much until lately is because he's had injury problems his entire career. Knee and back problems have limited his games, and those are major injuries that make anyone worry. Similar to Tracy Mcgrady, who was once compared to Kobe daily, but after injuries wasn't talked about as much. But when healthy, Baron Davis is one of the most dangerous guards in the NBA, because he has a complete game.
Early in his career, he liked to score first then pass, and he was compared to Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis as scoring point guards who need to pass more. He was even invited to the slam dunk contest for his explosiveness.
While he's not quite as explosive today, he's still very effective, and now he's a better passer and team leader. He's got the Warriors clicking now, and while I don't expect him to shoot well every night like he did in Game 1 against the Mavericks, he is as good a floor general as you will find in the NBA.

I'd say Davis is underrated namely because he can't seem to stay healthy to play a good chunk of the season to show people what he can truly be capable of (like last night's performance).
He can shoot when he needs or has to, pass if the shots aren't going in, and be a leader or take over a game when the going gets tough (which is why the W's tend to falter somewhat without him) unlike Dirk, who seems to shy away from these responsibilities and huge pressure situations. Hell, unlike Dirk, it almost seems like Baron welcomes them.
With Nowitzki, the Mavericks were or still are mentally soft, finesse team. It is only recently that Johnson is trying to instill toughness. But the soft part of the Mavericks honestly starts with Cuban, who is constantly complaining about officiating and eventually it permeates throughout the team...

No he just fits his team well right now and had a lucky shooting night. His career shooting % is around 40% and he takes some ugly shots (they go in every so often). As for distributing the ball well when one person can work with 4 guys spotting up for the 3 I dont know whether to call that a great player when he gets assist or not. Dont worry if GS is going to beat Dallas the key player is Richardson not Davis

No, Baron is not underrated. Everybody knows how good the guy is, but let's face it. He will not be that hot again against Dallas in this series, and Golden State will lose.

Of course not. He's one of the toughest small men in the NBA. In his prime, he was one of the fastest, high-leaping guards in the league. He could light up that scoreboard every night and was always a leader on the court. He seemed underrated because of the mediocre teams he'd been to. But now I think he's having a sort of resurrection with Golden State. Although a step slower, he still got some hops and smarts to outduel the game's top guards.

Daniel, I'm the girl you're talking about. I'm a warriors fan and been one for a long time, lives in the Bay area, so stfu. Your question was stupid and lame, you keep saying that the Clippers would have been in the playoffs if Dallas didn't bench their players at that one game. BS, your stupid Clippers lost their game that night too, you mofo.
And what do you mean I keep commenting you, I answered your lame question once, or are you too stupid to notice that, idiot.
And Daniel, you say you like the GS too, wow, obviously, you're the one who's riding the GS bandwagon, look at your questions, they're all about the Clippers, and you've said "I'm a Clippers fan."

Yeah Baron Davis has been an underrated player for a long time now, one major reason is due to his injuries, like his severe one to his knee. He's finally healthy and he's developed leadership skills, so I think ppl respect him now. And this is for that girl that keeps commenting me about GS being better then Clippers. Wtf?, I'm not even comparing them to Clippers you retard, I like GS to so stop being a retard your probably a bandwagon GS fan anyways.
