Hi, I have been researching this drug. I have read on many sites that the effect of LSD is around 8 hours.

However, I do not know if they are referring to a certain amount of it.

My buddy, who has tried it. Says that one tab will last about 3 hours, but I do not know who to believe.

So, what is the effect of one tab of lsd?

It varies.

Some chemists will sit and use an eye dropper to carefully measure out and soak each blotter tab with the same amount of LSD. Others will simply soak a sheet in a vat of solution and then hang it up to dry. While it's drying, excess solution will work its way to the bottom of the sheet, so those end up having a very large amount, while the ones at the top will have very little.

Oral LSD Dosages (ug = 1/1,000,000 of a gram)
Threshold: 20 ug
Light: 25 - 75 ug
Common: 50 - 150 ug
Strong: 150 - 400 ug
Heavy: 400 + ug
LD50 (Lethal Dose*): 12,000 ug (*amount necessary to kill 50% of tested lab animals)

Once you hit a certain amount, about 450-600 ug, you cannot create more powerful effects, you will only increase the duration.

For an average trip:

The onset takes about an hour.
The duration can be 6-14 hours depending on the amount ingested.
And normal after effects can continue for a full 24 hours.

The great thing about lsd is how safe it is. The amounts required to have effect are so small, most other drugs and poisons (like meth, pcp, strychtnine) cannot even fit on the blotter tab and wouldn't even be active in micrograms.

There are no physical dangers from taking it, no addiction potential, no brain cells lost, no holes in the brain, and no residue left at the bottom of your spine. (all myths and propaganda)

Only about 15% of the actual drug reaches your brain, the majority of it is removed from your body the next time your urinate after ingesting. The rest of the drug passes through your system in a mere 3-5 days.

While it's true your body immediately builds up a tolerance to LSD, these levels return to normal in less than a week. It would be possible to take LSD every weekend without ill effect (well, physical effect anyways).

The psychological aspects of LSD are hotly debated and are still being researched today. It has been found that a latent or prior existing psychosis can surface in people who take it. It was also used for its therapuetic value in the 40's and 50's by psychiatrists. Even Cary Grant was prescribed it by his therapist, he took 100 seperate trips in his lifetime.

The worst thing about this drug is that it is illegal. Trying to explain to people that you can take LSD one night and still go to work the next day can be taxing. When your faced with someone who knows nothing about LSD other than the lies and myths, it can very hard to find common ground to begin a conversation that doesn't turn into yelling, bickering and name calling.

It is important to research and educate yourself about this drug, and others, before claiming to know how it will affect someone based on what one has heard. We all know how the pipeline works, by the time something like "LSD can cause psychotic disorders in people." gets down to the general public, it becomes something like "Take LSD and you become legally insane!".

Length Of Lsd Trip

It depends on the amount and quality of LSD in the tab or "hit." It is recommended to take 1/2 of whatever amount is recommended, if that makes sense.

According to wikipedia, LSD's half life (effect cut in half) is 3 hours, so effects could be felt anywhere from 6 to 12 hours if you're part of the unlucky bunch.

Another very important variable to keep in mind is the frequency of usage. Tolerance to LSD can be built, so a new user should not consume as much as an experienced user.

For a first time user, one tab will likely make you see things vibrating, changing and colors 10x as bright. Once you get up to two hits, this is when you'll start seeing the revelations and the beauty of everything around you(on a good trip, ha).

Once you take the hit, you're chest will feel heavy in about an hour. you'll feel giddy 90 mins into it, and a bit of anxiety may set in 2hrs into it. At the 3rd hour you'll start to peak and witness the true meaning behind everything you see. Peaking will last about 3 hours, then you'll gradually start coming down at hour 6. Hours 7-9 you'll still get visuals but nothing as strong as the previous hours.

Tip: Have a heavy breakfast. ppl tend to have a low appetite when they trip. Also, you may want to buy a tape recorder, it will be a good investment. When peaking try to be outside in a park(avoid crossing streets) on a warm sunny day, and remember to use sunglasses(pupil dilation)....oh yea, a water bottle is a most. good luck

One tab of LSD usually lasts 10-12 hours!! I've never heard of it lasting 8 hours or less. Maybe you are confusing it for mushrooms that usually last about 6 hours.

a tab or two should make you trip for about 12-14 hrs if your buddy said 3 it is defently not lsd. It could be another drug or just all in his head but do not eat the 3 hr trip paper its probly bad for you

I'm betting this differs from person to person. I've heard of people who lasted for only a couple of hours, others for an entire day.

Probably something similar to alcohol, where a heavier person needs more to get drunk than a lighter person.

I would also do a search on some of the suspected chromosome damage that is done through things like LSD. I would also investigate the rate of drug induced psychosis with this drug.
