What would you do if you lived in a duplex where your upstairs neighbors are a bunch of unsupervised 16 year olds who sound like all they do is party and you have to work early.
They will take it out on you if you call the police!!!

If you call the police, you can report it anonymously. Tell the officer that you are concerned that you will face retribution from the teens for calling the police and you would like every assurance that retaliation will not occur. You shouldn't be terrorized by them in order to get sleep. Anything else you could do would only further inconvenience you and/or result in retaliation just as well.

How about if you call the police and have them say that a neighbor called. They can tell them that several of the neighbors have been complaining, all you need to do is explain the situation to the police and they will help in this situation. They can make it sound like people from the entire duplex called. Sometimes teens can be irresponsible and Who ever is in charge of them could end up in jail, but one thing for sure is that they will loose all of their alcohol and drugs if the police see it. If they are underage and having a party that appears to have alcohol involved then call the police and anonomously report that some underagers are drinking on the property. Not only will they get in trouble but so will whoever is providing the alcohol and who is the primary on the lease to the apartment.

Where are the Parents? Surely you can speak to them, tell them what goes on when they are absent and ask them to ensure the kids have a little more respect for you and your time. We all know tennagers believe they are the centre of the universe, so speak to the parents and try to reason with them. They may be unaware of the goings on whilst they are away.
If that doesnt work, then threaten to call the cops, if that doesnt work, then call the cops, You have rights too you know. There are sound laws for night time they must abide by for the comfort of others. Goodluck - and perhaps invest in earmuffs!

I think I'd have to get a little creative. I'd take a couple days off work, and as soon as they fall asleep, have a party of your own! Turn up the music, invite a few friends, bang on the ceilings, and scream scream scream.... that'll show them how you feel. OR.... just invite yourself and few friends up to their party. Do everything you can to make the party lame and embarrass them all. Just remember, they're 16..... you're much smarter and much more creative. Good luck.

o geeeze, now i remember exactly WHY i hated cops when i was young.. it was because they ruined all my fun..but i can see hwhere youre coming from. i think you should give them a chance to stop, if i got a chance like that ever when i partied, then id prob. have saved ALOT of money for underage and other stuff..so go up to them and tel them to turn it down or stop doing it so much. tell them they need to calm down. then if they keep doing it call the cops! stupid kids like that dont deserve to even have a party..

If you call the police they wont tell the people who called if they are partying loud then it could be any of the neighbours that called. If they ask and you dont want them to know you called you dont have to admit to it

You can call the police and either not tell them who you are or ask them to not tell them who called. I remember the police coming to parties I was at and they wouldn't say who called.

REPORT THEM TO THE POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember, ALL police are not allowed to tell the teens who reported them! If the teens approach you asking if you reported them - just say "NO. Maybe you should ask some of the other neighbors".
