Day in Memphis?

Question

I will be spending one day in Memphis and thought the zoo in the morning and a riverboat cruise in the afternoon. Is there anything else I shouldn't miss? Will probably hit some clubs on Beale St. in the evening as well.

Don't care enough about Graceland to pay $25.

Try walking around downtown. Just about everything is in walking distance and if it's not, you can always take a trolley ride. S. Main is a great place to browse if you've got some spare time and appreciate the arts. Take a tour of the Gibson Guitar factory. Many people forget about it, but it's pretty cool. There's also the Rock and Soul Museum right across the street from Gibson. Anywhere on Beale is great...I particularly like Silky O'Sullivan's for drinks. Many people say Pat O'Brien's is a good place for food/drinks, but I've had bad service there twice. King's Palace is awesome. Oh, you HAVE to go toHuey's and have a Huey's burger. They are famous and have won Memphis' best burger since, I think, about the late 1980's. Welcome to Memphis and have fun!

Be sure to check out the ducks at the Peabody hotel, downtown near Beale. Fun. Also take a look at the Memphis Redbirds stadium, peak in and look around, BB King's good place for music. Get a Wet Willies nice frozen drink well worth the money! Yummy! Also be sure to try some fried pickels and fried tomatos anywhere. Wonderful, this city has the best!!!! Alfreds also has really good food and some pretty good BBQ. Rendezvous also had wonderful BBQ, very good place. If you get time, because it does not take much to see going to Sun Studios is pretty cool. I am not into the Elvis things but, I do like music and I found this very interesting and cheap took about and hour. Had a nice time doing it and learned some cool thins.

Yea the zoo is a good idea if you never have been-make sure you see the sea lion show when your there, i think it starts at like 11 am. Riverboat cruise is fun as well and since you will already be downtown for the cruise you gotta hit rendezvous for some BBQ! If you go on Beale i suggest club152 or coyote ugly- o yea stop by wet willies also so for a drink or 2, or 3, or 4.......

You HAVE to go to Rendezvous. It is a world famous BBQ Rib restaurant so good that the dry rub will make you cry! Seriously though, it is incredible food. Anywhere you are in Memphis, just ask somebody how to get there when you are hungry and I'm sure they will know. Beale St. is pretty cool, Graceland is a waste, unless you were in love w/ Elvis. Memphis is a great town, so have fun!
