Bush beat Kerry by 5 million votes. If you could have prevented it, why do you complain?

Because most elections are won by independent voters these days. The candidate who can appeal to moderates is probably going to be the winner in '08.

Currently MANY republicans are also dissatisfied with the state of affairs that Bush is leaving this country in, so democrats aren't primarily the ones whining about it. Plus there is the entire world, I'm not sure I know of many countries that actually respect president Bush. I understand he does not represent ALL republicans, but since he is our "fearless leader," he is a strong representation and force for republicans. Therefore, republicans can get a bad rep simply because he is the current stereotype for republicans.
Bush was elected because many felt Kerry wasn't such a hot choice either. I'm a democrat and I simply did not vote because (at the time) I thought there was no "lesser of the two evils" that everyone spoke of. I hated both candidates so I didn't want to be responsible for electing either.

In addition, it was the "electoral college" that truly voted in the President, not the people. If I remember correctly, the electoral college's votes were not a truly accurate representation of the people's voting preferences in many cases.

People's Votes do not matter. The thing that matters is the electoral college votes. The votes people make are only a guideline to those who count. So everyone in America could vote for a republican and if the democrat gets more electoral college votes then, the democrat wins. For the 2nd part again its the electoral college fault.

I think it comes down to the number of people who don't vote at all. They of course, have no right to whine about anything, but they do anyway. There is some question about the accountability of electronic voting machines (leave no paper trail) but the main reason I whine is that we are being sold down the river so big oil can squeeze a few more million barrels out of the middle East before
China outbids us and we are forced to adapt to french fry fuel or hydrogen (you think bottled water is expensive now?)

Democrats did not actually vote for their candidates in the past elections because they deem that the Republican candidate is the right person as President.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees profile blog and know who will likely win.

The reason is that the Republican Party is more cohesive. The Democratic party is actually two parties that merge into one. There are a lot of Conservative Democrats. Most are in the South. Because the Democratic party is so fractured, they are more likely to jump ship.

I don't think there are more democrats. I think they're just more outspoken, whereas republicans mostly choose to speak when it counts: on election day. I could speak against democrats all day, but none of that matters in the end.

Is it so much about electing a democrat or a Republican ...or are the issues at hand what is important.

Ethically speaking of course.

Think today's majority of Americans still want another Repug in the White House, after all the corruptions and lies that have been connected with to Republican leadership? Good grief, surely not all Americans are raised idiots!

Conservative, Christian, intelligent, adults, thank God, do most of the voting. Democratics and liberals are usually too drunk or stoned or otherwise distracted to even find the voting booth, much less punch the chad.. i hope that answer helps.
