I have this uncomfortable feeling of a lump in my throat but it doesn't hurt at all. I'm only 14 and I don't see a lump or feel a lump in my throat with my fingers. it sort of feels like there is a pill stuck in my throat. I can eat and drink and breath normally too. I have had this for like a year and a half, sometimes during the day and almost everynight. ( I might just notice it more at night.) what could it be? and what could i do to help it go away? plz help and be serious. thx.

It's not a lump you can see. it just feels like a lump in my throat. and my mom won't take me to a docter, she says it's all in my head.

Try looking at your tonsils. You could have tonsilloliths, which are little white globs of dead tissue that normal tonsils will eliminate on their own. Some people have tonsils that are incapable of removing them on their own and it usually has to be done manually. The feeling you describe is exactly what tonsilloliths are like.

Your tonsils are covered with nooks and crannys that aren't apparent until you poke & prod. Those nooks & crannys are where the tonsilloliths would be.

You should see a doctor...

but my sister had a lump in her throat and she went to a doctor. They gave her antibiotics..at first it worked but the lump came back. She went back to the doctors and he gave her stronger antibiotics..yet it still didn't work. My sister in an attempt to cure herself bought some orange juice and kept drinking a whole lot of it and noticed that the lump was disappearing. She went to those jamba juice places (I forgot where she actually went to, I think the juice place started with a R) anyways, she got an orange drink smoothie and boosted it up with vitamin C and she swears that it cured her. Maybe you can try drinking a lot of orange juice. But my sister didn't have a lump for a year and a half like you. You should still go to a specialist and get that checked out ASAP.

The white stuff on your tonsils is nutrition, your tonsils are filters for rubbish the lump may well be as a results of contaminated tonsils, its no longer inevitably strep, fairly basically a bacterial an infection.

Talk to your mom and have your thyroid checked. It's a simple blood test.
