You can start as soon as they're old enough to do something wrong. Make sure you don't smile when you're telling her no, or right afterwards, or she will think it's a big game.

I have learned that the word stop works alot better than no. They hear no so many times a day that it becomes a game to them to do the thing you are saying no to. Also, dad and grandmother might not say no to things you would say no to and it confuses them alot. Every child is different, but they say they understand at 18 months, but I think its alittle earlier. I believe they understand when you can ask them if they want up and they say yes and put their hands up. When you begin asking them questions and they respond back with you in a form of a gesture (putting their hands up to want up) or saying yes.

Good luck. This is definitely a tough one, the no issue
Edit to the hair pulling thing....they all do that. You just have to remove their hand and say "please stop pulling mom's hair, be nice to my hair". Thats what I do and it works. More of a gentle manner. At this age unfotunately, you just have to physically remove them or their hand from the situation you don't want them to do. Gear their attention towards another area

As soon as they start to do things that are wrong. It will only be through using the word often that you will make your child familiar with right and wrong. They will only learn the word by you using it and showing your child, and then the child can learn about right and wrong. Raising children is tough and Iwish you the best! Children will give you the most challanging times of your life, but they will also give you the most beautiful times fo your life.

Immediately. Children are like dogs. You have to be firm but loving. Telling them no shows that you are in charge. If they continue and you allow it without consequence then you will never be able to properly raise your children because they will know that they are the bosses.

We started telling our son "NO" at 5 months. By 5.5 - 6 months, he knew what no was.
