The difference between perfume and cologne is merely the concentration. the descending levels of concentration are: perfume (30%); eau de perfume (15%); eau de toilette (8%); cologne (5%); and cologne splash (3%). the remainder is alcohol and water, or a carrier oil (for oil-based perfume). the chart below gives an [approximate] breakdown of the amounts of scent, alcohol, and water for each scent level.

Yeah about 70 dollars!!! Cologne is a mix of your chosen "fragrance" that is "watered down" with alcohols and othe liquids. Now,perfume is the fragrance in its purest form of oils and extracts and a little liquid of some sort of course so it sprays nicely. Colognes are a lighter version of your fragrance, perfumes last longer, and are generally worth the extra money. At least thats my opinion!!!

My understanding is that perfume has more of an oil base which makes the scent last longer. Cologne is more of a water base so it wears off pretty quickly.

Perfume is much more expensive, but it lasts a lot longer too. Cologne is more watered down, less expensive, and doesn't last as long. Men wear "men's" cologne. No such thing as men's perfume.

Perfume is the strongest and therefore the longest lasting fragrance available. Just a bit will net you hours of scent -- days actually. Cologne is just a bit weaker and is sometimes mischaracterized as a men's product.

Hope this helped !

A true perfume consists of a secret recipe of essential oils and various ingredients that permit the liquid to be poured into an atomizer or other types of containers, a parfum or pure perfume will have the highest concentration of oils. Due to this greater amount of scented essential oils, the perfume's scent will be longer lasting and stronger. A little bit of parfum is all it takes to maintain its alluring aroma for hours. The high price of true perfume is the result of the high concentration of oils.
