(This is easy to ask because I'm a non-affiliated moderate)

Doesn't all the hate-talk get old after a while?

Could cooperation produce faster results?

Why should it take a major conflagration like 9/11 to get us to bury the hatchet?

OK, that was 4 questions, but I'm on a roll!

Hugging is a Liberal thing.

Kissing seems to be very Republican ... at least in the Bush Administration.

Democracy IS a cooperation. Results and consequences happen whether or not we choose. Part of Clinton's budget success was due to Republicans approving almost none of his spending request. That lack of compromise benefited the budget.

9/11 dropped NY crime statistics and made NYers nicer to one another. But in general, difficulty brings out both the best and worst of people. I think the recent VT shootings are a good example of that here on Y!A.

As for the Die-Hards and Flash-in-the-Pan Anger, just do what Grown Folks Do ... Find ways to conversate around those. Asking them to come out of their own heads to join the rest of us? Worth asking. At least to those that value living in a Democracy.

I hate no one ( not even the mis guided liberals) ha ha ha

If we all got along without an argument road rage cases would soar through the roof . I am glad we live in a Country where we can argue back ,and forth yet still work side by side .

I don't think 9-11 buried the hatchet , both sides love this Country but the sad fact is all politicians are lawyers , and they do what lawyers do , they argue their views , and get others to believe it , even if it is wrong , just like in court , all you need is a majority to believe you , and rule ( vote ) in your
favor . not saying this to offend lawyers of the non political game . Politicians on both sides are neighbors , golf partners , and good friends . They just have to stand their ground on what they think is best for this Country . A cold beer after an all day argument makes the beer taste better.
Now after 9-11 we were on the same page , until the 08 election calender started , then most democrats changed their views on the war , and they just so happen to want a deadline on troop withdrawal to fall about a month before the 08 elections . Both sides put up a good fight but they are all in it to line their pockets ... and anytime politicians try to fix something ,and call it progress you better believe it will cost all of us more out of our pockets.

The hate talk is just venting and letting off steam. I appreciate a good lib come back. Cooperation is futile because nothing is going to change. We agree to disagree. Hey all you liberals, BIG HUG! Hey Argle, love your answer.

Which party says "Civility is just another word for censorship"? Conservatives Which party says "Why should we compromise with a party that goes against what we believe in?" Conservatives Which party says "When the voting populous rises, our leverage in elections falls, that's why I don't want everybody to vote"? conservatives. Which party says "It's not the responsibility of corporations to hire people" just before they complain about the unemployment rate? Conservatives Cons can't co-exist peacefully, it's not in their DNA And Dennis just proved my point "Most Democrats here belong to a religion akin to the Kim Il Sung Model. Treat your enemies like vermin, worship your beloved leaders..." To my recollection, it is conservative commentators (Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Lars Larson, Bill Cunningham) that use the term "Liberal vermin" I don't ever recall hearing Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, or even Keith Olbermann EVER using the term "conservative vermin" And up until 2009 the conservatives threw around the word "treason" if anyone even HINTED at questioning George W. (of the Jungle) Bush

No I have not hugged a liberal today. I really don't know many here in my very Republican city/county.
It NEVER gets old.
Yes - it probably could.
Most likely - yes because the liberals will not be on the side of the terrorists if they get bombed again.

Liberals feel unconforable hugging because they feel it is an expression of faith.
