First relationship in college?

Question

Has anyone here NOT had a serious boyfriend or girlfriend until during college?

Some website said it's abnormal, but I know several people who've never even had a real kiss until college.

I've only ever been in one relationship, and while I could say it was "serious", it was really a fat joke. That was before college. I'm now only a freshman in college, but haven't had any luck finding any genuinely appealing guys. I saw this ad for a book about teens and young adults who are more into hookups rather than actual romantic relationships. I don't think it's abnormal to find a relationship once in college. It's not normal to trade real relationships in for hookups instead. I know plenty of girls who haven't had any kind of "action" so to speak, including something as simple as a kiss, until college. I also know a few who haven't been in a serious relationship either, so far. I think it's normal. The standards have just been lowered for most people, it seems, with the goal being someone to have drunken sex with on weekends. Hah. Young people don't seem to know how to form real relationships. That, or they don't want to. What's sad is that's becoming the norm.

I know several people at my college who haven't had any sort of relationship. It's not as unusual as you'd think. But as for myself, when I entered college, I was with (and still am with) the same girlfriend I've had since junior high school.

I had only one serious girlfriend before college. HS can be quite cliquish, so college gives you the opportunity to break out with a fresh slate, and you encounter a wide variety of more accepting people.
