Do Christians believe JESUS is the GOD of the Old Testament?
The Trinity contends that all three parts of God are one without any separation between them otherwise it would be proven to be polytheism.
Therefore, according to Christianity the God of the Old Testament is Jesus.
If you say yes, then you cannot ever deny that he sent the commandments written in the Old Testament.
Someone can say they don’t follow them anymore…ok…. But if they ever deny that he made these commands then JESUS was not the GOD of the Old Testament.
Here is one command JESUS sent down:
"If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21: but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.” ---- Exodus 21:20-21
If a Christian denies it was ever sent down by Jesus then either Jesus is not their God or they don’t believe that the Bible is the word of God.
Whether these are still enforced or whether these were sent millenniums ago…… are not the question.
The eye opener is that Christians cannot deny that according to their faith Jesus sent this command down.
Maybe enslaved men can handle a beating but fragile women would be in pain beyond imagination.

Later to be known as "the rule of thumb," where you could legally beat your wife, but only with something no thicker than your thumb. I guess crowbars hadn't been invented yet. Gee, maybe a bunch of men wrote the Bible. Ya think?

Really cruel. Thanks for finding this part. Anyway I feel Jesus came to change these laws. Somehow I wonder why God let anyone write something like this.

I think you misread it. It says we can beat YOU with a rod until you are unconscious.
"Whether these are still enforced or whether these were sent millenniums ago…… are not the question. "
I'm not a Christian, but, yeah this really is the question moron. I'm happy telling the occasional Christian to buzz off. I'd be less happy if they were strapping bombs on their children and blowing up f***ing malls.
Get a new hobby and bash the religion THAT'S TRYING TO KILL PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

yes it was a commandment to the people of Israel. It was God's law for them to follow and how to rule themselves/judge themselves.
Think of it like a courtroom. For a person to be stoned to death, he had to have killed his slave. If the slave didn't die, the person wasn't stoned to death.
However, this does not exclude the cruelty that beating a slave entails. God would still not be happy about such a cruel deed because it stems from an evil heart. The evil deed would not go unpunished by God but is not punishable by the leaders of Israel. Do you understand?
If the man kills his slave, God is giving the people of Israel permission to punish him. If he beats his slave but does not kill him, then it is for God to judge.

Guess you lose, because you didn't even read what you quoted closely enough. It's talking about slaves. I don't know where you live, but where I live, slavery is banned.
Nice try smart guy.
