If the shoes are still wet, stuff them with newspaper and let them dry slowly. Removed the newspaper stuffing after several days.

To deodorize the shoes, you can put fabric softener sheets in them. If you don't want to do that, you can get some shoe deodorant spray. It is sold in some stores either in the shoe department or in the household and beauty aids department.

The next stage is to apply some leather balm or shoe polish to the shoes. Apply, buff it up nicely. Then spray on some water-repellant spray. You can purchase that at Wal Mart, K Mart, Target, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc.

Out with the old in with the new! Sorry to say girl, but you need to give those shoes the boot! Leather is very tough to save once ruined or even slightly damaged. Same goes for silk. However, next pair of leather shoes you get, go to any shoe store, and pick up some water repelant.
