The above products will work well, but be careful. Over saturating can push the smell into the pad below. So if you've used the products and still have the smell, the problem may be down in the pad. You can cut the carpet......cut three sides of a square and fold the carpet back so you can be assured you reset it correctly. If the pad is stinky, cut out the area and replace with pad from another area......like the closets. While the pad is up, check the floor below. Urine can get down there too. If it's plywood, wash, dry and then paint the area it with a sealing type paint such as Kilz. Put down the new pad and give the carpet another sniff test. If it fails, go to the closet and cut a patch and put it in the damaged area. Use carpet tape, double sided tape to hold down the pad and carpet or patch carpet.

This homemade dog urine smell removal recipe is made from inexpensive household products.
Ingredients
Baking Soda
White Vinegar
Dishwashing Detergent
3% Hydrogen Peroxide
Directions:
If the area is still wet you should first attempt to absorb the dog urine.
The next step is to mix a solution of fifty percent white vinegar and fifty percent water. Work the solution in with a scrubbing brush. This area must now be allowed to dry.
When the area has dried sprinkle a good handful of baking soda over the soiled area. Pour the hydrogen peroxide and detergent mixture over the baking powder. Work the dissolving baking soda well into the carpet, first with your fingers and then with a scrubbing brush
Once again allow the area to dry completely and then vacuum thoroughly.

Vinegar neutralizes the smell of dog urine. You should try to get the urine up as much as you can if it is fresh and then wash the area with warm soapy water with vinegar in it. Rinse and repeat if necessary. For old stains it's more work. Most vets have a product that will also work but of course will cost more. Good luck.
