A eunuch is a man who had his testicles and perhaps his penis cut off when he was a child. People aren't the only ones who get this treatment. An ox or a steer is a male animal that would have grown up to be a bull if his balls hadn't been cut off. Do not try that on a full-grown bull.
I saw a full frontal nude photograph of a eunuch once. He definitely had a man's face, but no beard. For all I know he shaved that morning. His genitals had been completely removed when he was five years old. He had pubic hair like a woman, but strangest of all, his arms were abnormally long.
As late as the 1940s, the Vatican was castrating boy singers so their voices wouldn't change.

A man who can't rise to the occasion. a man who has been "altered" for religious reason. guarding a harem or for music. (the Catholic church used to castrate children to keep their voices high for the choir) Definitely the not the man most women are looking for.
