Yes. I am a mom, wife and work a terrible job but I still take college courses. I am so thankful for that

Are you referring to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the civil rights activist, or his father, the Rev. Martin Luther King, the Atlanta minister of Ebenezer Baptist Church? Assuming that you're referring to Dr. King Jr., he didn't have many obstacles to achieving personal success. Although he attended segregated schools in Atlanta, he was an unusually gifted scholar. He left high school at the age of 15 and graduated from Morehouse College, another segregated institution in Atlanta, with a BA when he was 19. He received his BD from Crozer Theological Seminary, a desegregated institution, in 1951 and his PhD from Boston College, also desegregated, in 1955. That same year, he became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Clearly, he did have obstacles to overcome in his career as a civil-rights worker. Those obstacles have been well documented and should be easy to find in a search. Go to the top of this page and enter "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." in the "Search" input box and click on "Web Search." You'll find almost more information than you can condense into a paper.

Keep trying when you know the goal is attainable, it's worth the effort. Just work at it bit by bit.

1. Don't be afraid to work damn hard--nothing that's worth it comes easy.
2. Don't be afraid to make mistakes--but learn from them, and try to only make them once, and never again....
