Destiny...Wow what a wonderful subject.
You know... my thoughts and beliefs on this question have really been provoked.
Is destiny a bad thing to resist from or a good thing to succumb to. The center of reality on the question is where a person is in there destiny. We all have one. It has been written...that there is a plan for every single person. A good plan, one for good not evil, that the final outcome would be just the way you would like. That the end result would be a dream come true.
My view is... on the (a) part of the question? I don't believe you can resist destiny, you build it, tweak it, plan it, dream it, walk it and live it, love it and love in it. With the thought, that a happy learner is a progresive learner..a disciple of life. No we don't resist destiny we live it. We can resist evil. We can resist goodness. That is all part of the blueprint. Farming was part of my family life when I was a young boy. I never did see corn grow from a tomato seed. The life of the seed is in it self, to produce after it's kind. When I had children the were human children. They look like me. Not like any other living thing on earth...but a human. Does that mean that if my dad was a mean person I would have to be also. (He wasn't). No. The point is when dealing with destiny, it is just there, what are you going to do with it. Choose to live it. Or maybe choose to kill it. So the question would be how do you kill destiny? Thats simple...refuse to allow life to enter.

I also don't believe that you can succumb to destiny. Destiny is not a thing, but you, you are your destiny, you are destined for greatness in life not degredation and the beggarly elements of this world.

Most folks that succumb to things give up a little at a time to succumb carries the spirit of give up on me, the lie of automatic is choice by default, someone else running your life. Choose this moment to live every moment and choose blessing. When we sow to the death side of existance we reap from that, thorn and thistles. When that is full grown we wonder where the depression comes from. When we sow to the life side of existance we reap the fruit of goodness.
If it was not so I would have told you... are the words of a destined savior. The Spirit and breath of life has been freely given...love pleading to be recognized.
I am not trying to change the world...but I will not allow the world to change me.

Excluded...
Excluded, no one is, not from life, in life all are included. Faith in life always assumes that you are abiding in that life. Why would anyone not want to be in that life. Please remember this-always have this freshness in your soul, life carries no invoice. All that is owed by us in life is to give its gift away. Life has only one gift. Loves fulfillment, lovely isn’t it. This Life, however must be received by faith. Its your choice, choose Life in Christ Jesus. This is your life! Receive it now! And more abundantly.

Destiny only exists as a girls name. In that way, it is a bad thing to succumb to and a good thing to resist! Otherwise, the concept of destiny is a myth.

Destiny is a two ways street. Some take life and aspirant for the future as personal doing, and nothing of the unfathomable course of actions that were in place for each individual. Others would bet the last dollar that we are bonded by destiny, somewhat dictated our life from the beginning until the end. I am implying that we need to live normally, and not laze around when told of your good fortune coming your way. However, I am incline to say that what is for the taking will eventually belong to you, even though you chose to remain idle and not do anything. ------ “I have seen a bum won a lottery”

The idea is live normally and let intuition guide your every move.

It's always seemed strange to me that people think that if you believe in destiny, it becomes something to succumb to. If your destiny is something very difficult, you can hardly be considered as succumbing to it, because you would still have to expend a great deal of effort to bring it about. If it is your destiny to be a heart surgeon, you won't just be sitting back and riding the waves of life, you'll be working tirelessly to achieve that destiny.

Incidentally, I don't actually believe that destiny is either true or practical. I see no compelling reason to believe that the events of our lives are pre-ordained for us, and even if this were the case, it would be unwise to conduct life accordingly. People who believe in destiny find it too easy to place blame on it, when they often ought to place that blame on themselves. There is no hand forcing us to act in one way or another, and it would be folly for us to forget that whatever we believe, we are still responsible for our own actions, and it is still up to us to make our lives successful and happy. If we lazily wait to see what is planned for us, we will never get anywhere. It is best to act as though our futures our in our own hands only.

destiny as some kind of illusive, shapeless fate? Doesn't exist. And/or something to resist pretty damn hardcore. I'm not putting my future in the hands of an illusive shapeless anything!
But as far as my future goes, it is known already. And the hands that hold that information I do trust. All I need to do is pray and ask God what His will is and I try to stay within His plan for me. God's will is perfect.
It's not signs. You know? Like, when I'm trying to figure out, for example, if I should get married to so-and-so. If I'm paging through a magazine and land first thing on an ad for a wedding dress, or if I'm driving in my car and see someone having a wedding, or see my man's initials spelled in soup or whatever.... I would think these things are coincidence or they would just remind me of my situation. That they could be put in place to lead me my future is ludicrise, it's bullshit!

does it not depend on all the relevant variables? how we each define it, what destiny we think awaits us, whether we want it or not...
as for the believe it or not matter, it depends on whether we think destiny is some sort of divine plan, an extremely likely possibility which most likely override the others, a future that an individual believes firmly enough in to strive for, or anything else i can't think of at the moment.

to me it's just another word describing certain events or circumstances in the future which have a very high probability of coming about.

I don't believe in an externally determined destiny. Externalities may be imposed, by humanity or nature, but we always have some individual choice in how we respond to them. So what some call destiny or fate is determined by what we learn to see, and how we respond ... what we choose to resist, and what we allow ourselves to succumb to. For good or ill; for ourselves and others. It's what makes life such an adventure; and adventures by definition are not always comfortable. But it seems to me irresponsible, craven, and an abrogation of whatever is possible in our own humanity, to blame Fate, Destiny, God, or anyone else for it. To me, that's just avoidance.

Destiny is going to happen whether you like it or not. Resist, succumb, it does not matter, it's your energy to use how every you wish, but you can't stop what is going to happen anyway.

It's always better to succumb than to resist, and Destiny is neither good nor bad. You don't have to believe in destiny, it just catches up.
Give up your wows.!!

if you can choose to resist it or succumb to it its not destiny. personally i think its a comforting thought to help people sleep at night, believing that there was nothing they could do because it was destined to happen this way.
