Wild Pitch

The pitcher and catcher handle the ball so much that instead of charging them with errors for mishandling, the categories of wild pitches and passed balls were created.

Essentially, if a pitch cannot be handled by the catcher, and there is at least one runner on base, the official scorer will determine whether or not the ball was in a place where it could have been handled by the pitcher and where it couldn't be handled by the catcher. IF it could be, it's a passed ball, and if it couldn't be, it's a wild pitch. That's according to the rulebook.

Other definitions have been made popular. Or example if the ball bounces in the dirt, it's generally called a wild pitch, despite the fact that if a ball bounces in the dirt and it ought to have been corralled by the catcher, the rulebook says it's a passed ball.

There's a bit more, though. This is with the caveat that the runner himself did not reach on an error. But if a runner scores on a wild pitch, it's generally an earned run. IF a runner scores on a passed ball, it starts as an unearned run. It can become an earned run if there are sufficient hits, walks, hit batters, etc after that runner crosses the plate so that he would have scored without the passed ball.

Wild pitches and passed balls are found in 10.13 of the rulebook.

That would be Wild Pitch my friend. Some people tend to say it's for Winning Pitcher but that is denoted with a "W" plus you can't have 2+winning pitchers in one game.
