i am VERY short, under 5 feet and everyone is saying that when your period comes you will stop growing, well i havn`t gotten mine yet but it is coming soon because i get discharge and i have all these signs of my period coming. i dont want to b 4 ft. 8 inches for the rest of my life, i do tons of excersize and eat healthy but im not growing!! is there any way for me to grow faster? and before my period comes??

You do not stop growing once you get your period. On average, in the U.S., a girl gets her first period at 13, yet a girl can grow until she is about 21 years old.

There is nothing really you can do besides making sure you're getting sufficient nutrients to "make" yourself grow. You just have to be patient.

Hun I'm 5 feet one inch and I'm 30 years old. I was like you short and wanting so badly to grow taller, but there isn't a thing that you can do to speed up the process of your height or growth. Only if you haven't had your growth spurt yet, then you can have a shot of growing taller, but that's something that your body and time will tell. Its great that you are eating right and exercising and keeping your body healthy and fit that's good, please keep it up even when you get older. But don't rush it or even try it will happen when you least expect it and even if your period comes before you get taller or not at all, its a big step and you will have to worry and learn about that more importantly than getting taller, BELIEVE ME! I wish that kids your age wouldn't try to rush to get older. I mean i can't say too much because i was once you, but now that I am 30 and even when i was 21 I see what my mom was saying. Getting older isn't all its cracked up to be. Enjoy your age and live it to the fullest. You only live it once. Be blessed.

You can't control how tall you will be. Your period will comes no matter what your height is. How old are you? I didn't get mine until I was 18 so if you're under 18, don't worry about it and enjoy the time because you're not missing anything! If you're over 18, you need to see a GYN to see what's going on.

well i started growing when i was 12 yo, n stoped at 23 yo.my height now is 5ft4,n there is nothing to do with my period.my parents not quite tall actually but my 2 brothers,still growing taller n taller even now they are 20 n 22.my mum does give them to have herbal soup sometimes, n they also do alot of exercise expecially basketball.
sometimes i wish that i could get taller so that i can join the model lines, but it dun bother me even im not in.if this is the limited height i can get, just let it be.

HAHAHA I have never heard that! I think you still have time to grow! Everyone is different! you may still grow even after you have your P. I thought I was done growing but after I had my Sec kids I grow 1/2 inch! So you never know :) Good Luck

no, because your height is in your genes. But i dont think that you stop growing when you get your period, because i got mine last month, and im still growing myself and im only 5'1", and sence then i grew i half inch so im 5'1.5" now. Plus your breast's grow on average of 2 years after you get your period! so we all have time to grow.

You do not stop growing just because you get your period!! Whoever told you that needs to pay attention in human anatomy lol.... You will get taller if you are meant to...don't worry about it so much!

whoever told you that you stop growing when you start your period is not intelligent. That is a MYTH. I started mine when I was 12 and I did not stop growing.
