Is Friendliest? Toss up between Missouri and Kansas. This coming from a person who has visited Kansas City, MO, and Kansas City, KA. Two cities that sit on the state line right next to eachother. Life is a little slower, and more mellow in the midwest than it can be living in a big metro area on the east coast.

Prettiest state? Hawaii, if you have a chance, go it's beauty cannot be accurately discribed or captured in a photograph or on TV. Go see it for yourself. Go experience the mountains on the big Island, then take a dip in the ocean afterwards. Go visit Hawaii in the summer where there are no waves, and the ocean is a giant swimming pool. Go see the fish swimming around, your feet. Just go to Hawaii if you are ever lucky enough to go.

Has the best pizza? From my lack of experience eating pizza in Illiois (home of the Chicago deep-dish), I'd have to give the nod to my home-state of Maryland. The Baltimore area is known for having good Italian-style restaraunts, which I suppouse is thanks in part to it's good sized Italian-American population.

Has the best coffee? Not a coffee drinker, sorry.

Has the best amusment parks? Florida. It's hard to beat Disney, MGM and Universal studios if you ask me.

Has the best opportunities? That's a pretty open-ended question. but I say the state of Maryland offers a lot of opportunities depending on your life-style. In a matter of between 2 and 3 hours, you can drive from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to the Appalacian Mountains in western MD.

You also have the Cheasapeake Bay, plenty of rural country-side, and then of course there's the city of Baltimore with it's inner-harbor, Little Italy. There's also one of the best baseball stadiums in the league, Oriole Park, and on the otherside of Camden Yards is M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Ravens.

Then of course you also consider Maryland's proximity to DC. There's a whole boatload of government jobs, and computer tech job opportunites that are either in MD, or very close to it. There's also the University of Maryland which sits just outside of DC.

Not to mention if you like NHL, the NBA or, national league baseball. You have the Capitols, Wizards, and Nationals right there. You can either go root for them, or root against them when they play your team.

And if you like to go to concerts, most tours for any act will stop in DC or Baltimore, with the combined metro region of the two cities being comparable to that of Chicago.

Which state is most diverse? Hawaii. Have been there before. There's a pretty interest mix of native Hawaiians, Samoans, Philippino, and Asian-American people who make up the states' population.

Has the coolest cities? I'm partial to Maryland because I was born here, I grew up here, and I'm not moving out of state anytime soon. I always enjoy heading into Baltimore (because it's usually for the perpouse of having a good time with my relatives that still live with the city limits. Or it's going to a ballgame, eating out, or going to a rock concert.

I also like the small towns like the ones that are location in the rural country-side that is Carrol County.

Has the spiciest food? Don't like spicy food.

Has the most interesting history? I'd be inclined to say Pennslyvania since Philadelphia was the US capitol before Washington DC was built. Not to mention there where a lot of battles fought in PA that shaped the history of the US. Most notebly Chambersburg PA.

Virginia, Florida and California can fit into most of those categories...Va has interesting history, CA is very pretty and FL is friendly and fun. I have lived in all three of those states...now I live near DC and we have folks from all over the world living here so it is very diverse...most interesting place I have ever lived as far as people go. Oh...husband came back from Texas from a month long business trip with bad acid reflux...Texas wins the spicy award!!
