The hemi is to wide for the Pinto. Get a 86 and later ford 5.0 liter HO motor. They sell kits that allow them to bolt right in with headers and everything. My friend had a 71 pinto with a 300 horse 5.0 and it could keep with my Camaro with 425 horse becouse the weight vs HP was pretty close.

Yes it's called a full tube frame. just like the race cars have. Because that's the only safe way your going to do it. And that's only the beginning. A pinto is just not worth it. You would be better off with a small bock Chevy or Ford engine. Hemi's are really not that great.

You can do ANYTHING with enough money to throw at it, and you are gonna need ALOT of money!!!!!!! Have you priced a Hemi lately, if you can find them at all??? Do yourself a favor, use the money you THINK you would have spent as a down payment on a Mustang, Charger (your Hemi), or something like that, then use the money you would have REALLY spent on the project to pay off the new car.

let us just make it simple, pull the 2.3, and stuff a 302 back into it. this will keep you ocupied for a bit, and you should enjoy the results. also research the exploding gas tank, and correct the problem (4 bolts in the rear bumper)
