Have you been to the doctor at all yet for any prenatal checkups? Have you contacted your doctor about this?
If I was 8 wks pregnant and having "periods" that contained "a lot of clots" I would be racing to the nearest ER, not at my computer asking people on Yahoo if it was harmful!

I don't want to sound harsh, but COME ON! This is NOT normal, and your health--maybe even your life--is at stake here!

It sounds like you are miscarrying and if all the products of conception are not expelled on their own, you're going to need medical attention (such as a D&C) to make sure everything is out of there...or you could literally hemorrhage from all the blood loss.

It sounds like your having a miscarriage. I am very very sorry for you. If your having clots, and it's like a regular period then you're most likely miscarrying. After you stop bleeding, take another pregnancy test ASAP. If it says negative on it call your doctor. Your HCG levels should be gone by the time you stop bleeding. The women who have periods while pregnant, have just spotting. This sounds like a normal period. There is a 5% chance you aren't losing the baby, so check with your OB/GYN ASAP. They may be able to help the baby. Good Luck. I hope everything is okay. God Bless....

ok.. not to scare you but this has happen to me twice.

1.) I had a successful pregnancy. I had a baby girl 6lbs 2 oz.
2.) The same things happen again this March. I had a miscarriage.

I think you need to talk with your doctor and get your hormone level (hcg) checked.
There should be an doubling of your numbers every two days.
Get this checked as soon as possible.

Hope the best for you! :)

I'm not a doctor but I would say yes. I had a miscarriage about 2 weeks ago and when I started passing blood clots was when they told me I was having a ,miscarriage. I was almost 8 weeks when I lost the baby. You need to call you doctor first thing in the morning.

You need to call your doctor right away. You could be having a miscarriage. Any time you bleed when you are pregnant you need to call your Dr. ASAP. All OB's have 24 hour answering services and will get you in contact with a Dr. no matter what. Do Not Worry About Bothering Them. It is their job and they expect women to call them. They are used to it. And it's always better to be safe then sorry.

Talk to your doctor! My first daughter I spotted through the whole pregnancy so when I spotted during my second pregnancy I mentioned it to the Dr and I ended up having a miscarriage, same with the third pregnancy, During my fourth I spotted again through the whole pregnancy but had a healthy baby girl.

I would definitely check with your Dr or do another pregnancy test. I hope everything turns out well for you and the baby. I have 3 children and never experienced this so I'm not sure how common this is. Good Luck

Anytime that you bleed during pregnancy should be discussed with your Dr. It is my understanding that clotting while pregnant is a sign of a impending mis-carriage. I would certainly get checked out.
