Yes. It's embarrassing how our society is politically correct. Political correctness is creating a society where people have to constantly check what they are saying and censor every opinion. We are becoming a society of people too sensitive to hear the truth and too afraid of being outcast too speak up. Our own political correctness has inhibited our freedom of speech and belief.
Engineers have degrees and licenses. Janitors clean toilets and frankly, haven't put in half the intellectual effort that any college graduate has, unless a janitor happens to be a college graduate himself. . . and while I'm on the his/her debacle, why are people offended when the pronoun "he" is used? It's just a pronoun. We only have two grammatically correct options unless we change the instinctive nature of the English language to use "one" instead.
People are afraid of the truth. They are afraid of being told they are bad, wrong, lesser, or just outright different. Honesty is still the best policy. Being told we are wrong or bad is the only way to learn what's right and become better. Janitors or garbage collectors aren't called "sanitation engineers" because they aren't half as accomplished in their profession as a real engineer. People aren't always derogatory and out to get others. Words can't always be construed as offensive. Most of the time, they are just words.
I agree. Political correctness has gotten way out of hand and our society should be embarrassed at how we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Yes, it has gone too far, and I'm constantly rolling my eyes over it. When it gets to the point of changing the long time name of a school because it's "politically incorrect", it has gone too far. My husband's high school mascot used to be "The Indians", and it was that way for many decades, and suddenly it's "incorrect" it may be offensive to Native Americans. Well, I can tell you that I'm part Cherokee, and I consider anything like that an honor, not a disgrace, when used in a positive way. Of course, no one should slander anyone's race or background, but there is a point to where it becomes nit picking.

I think you can ask or say anything you choose, I will call a garbage man what ever I want! (I would really probley just call him by his name) When you say...it's gone to far, I wonder who is taking it to far, because as far as I new we have a first ammendment but I think your right in saying that there are people out there that are too nervous to say what ever they want, because they couldnt back it up with anything real, So I think that it is going to And I forget just why I taste Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile I found it hard, it was hard to find Oh well, whatever, nevermind :D

LoL, sanitation engineers? My neighbor is a garbage man and I wouldn't even call him sanitary. Yes it's getting ridiculous.

Yup its like we'd desire to constantly walk on egg shells for individuals. Suing over each little factor. human beings not being waiting to beautify for their trip because of fact it might offend somebody. agencies having to take down decorations in simple terms because of fact somebody unearths it offensive. human beings whine too plenty at the instant. and then there is this entire risk-free practices concern the place little ones won't have the ability to play tag anymore or doge ball. Its like quickly they are going to be locking them up in a padded room.

I think we should always be respectful and careful about offending people. But when someone gets upset with me now because I say Black person instead of African American, it's going a little too far.
