Don't they know the hazzards of releasing those balloons. Whose dumb idea was that??? They are working on banning balloon releases due to POLUTION and animals dying from eating them.

They released the 1000 balloons because they knew that today was earth day, when we celebrated a day without pollution. So, they made some pollute in order to celebrate earth day.

I agree with you 100%. The money used to buy the baloons could have been put to a more meaningful way to show you care. I donated to our "food bank" in memory of the victims. Remembering isn't about show. If you know some one that died, go to their family or if someone lost their partner, same thing. God help them all.

people are hurting and trying to cope with tremendous loss. Sorry for the birds but if I lost a child any acknowledgment of pain to heal is what I would do.

dude, its a memorial of a very tragic event that happend and they are just trying to celebrate these peoples lifes and mourne their untimly deaths, if ballons are one way they want to show it then by all means let them do it
