Because he was elected as President in 2000, served for 4 years. Then in 2004 he ran for re-election and won, so he is serving as President for another 4 years as of 2004. The winner of the 2008 election will be inaugurated on January 20, 2009. So simple subtraction would confirm that Bush has approximately 1 year and 9 months left as President, that is how he is still in office. I know this is complicated stuff, but I have faith that you'll be able to comprehend all this eventually.

Guy, I'm going to say the same thing to you and all your lefty friends that I said to all my righty friends in about 1999... Get over it. In less than two years you will more than likely have your guy in office that screws the American people in the way that you see fit, instead of the way conservatives see fit. Then you can wonder why all the neo-cons are a bunch of cry-baby morons like you are right now.
If there was really any sort of proof of "corruption" beyond "Bush/Clinton does stuff that I don't agree with" the media would be all over it. The media has sucked for 50 years but they tend to catch the Watergates.
Let it go and focus on your family, man. You will feel better.

Because our leaders are not held accountable anymore, on EITHER SIDE! They screw up our country, someone asks them a question, and they babble some crap, and everyone's like o.k. Or one side's like see nothing's wrong here and the other side's head are spouting mushroom clouds in anger. We're always going to be the same old divided sheeple until we can see through the facade and start really watching our elected officials. Any one who thinks George Bush or any other politician is a real christian is badly mistaken. They played the christian people like a harp from hell with their empty promises. They bought it and still do. I wish I could remember the name of the christian reporter who spent his time in D.C. and how he talked about how the "supposed" christian right-wing senators would talk nice to his face and laugh at him behind closed doors. Did he lose his faith in God. NO! But now he sees how things really operate in our nations capitol. Don't forget Mr. Bush promised something like 8 billion in faith-based initiatives in his first term and than paid out like 1% of that. It's a great dog and pony show they put on for us and alot of people fall for it.

There was an election in 2004. George Bush was elected by a large majority of the voters to be president. The president's term is for four years. The four years aren't up yet. Therefore, he is still in office.

He was elected by a majority of the electoral college after the Novemeber 2004 general election. After the election the delegations to the electoral college from the fifty states then cast their votes based on the states sending them.
That is why Geroge Bush is still in office.
Any other reasons come from the tin foil hat crowd represented by Air America and the lefty looney blogosphere.

His term isn't over yet. Presidential elections occur every 4 years, as best as I can remember from civics classes.
Since he is currently in his second term, he can not run again. So, a new president will be elected in 2008 when his term is over.

Umm..............I could be wrong, but I think it has something to do with the peoples votes! If he could run again he would almost certainly be re elected. I'm a Libertarian, so I'm used to my votes being ignored. If you're as bright as you believe yourself to be maybe you should read up on the libertarian philosophy. (don't ask somebody, read it for yourself)
