Generally they never live up to there expectation. Alone in the dark was brutal and almost unwatchable. Resident evil was fun for what it was but nothing mind blowing. Don't even get me started on the mario bros movie from the 80's.
Castlevania is currently being worked on and I sure will be a suck fest. The same guy that did resident evil (Paul Anderson) is responsible for castlevania.
And have you seen the Dead Or Alive movie based on the Xbox game? Yikes....Super suck.

usually I would say video games as movies is a waste, but since Halo Wars is underdevelopment, and the trailer is quite pleasing, I have to say it might work this time.
