Last summer I spent a LOT for leaving the AC on just for a few hours a day to cool off, so I am wondering if I instead use the fan by itself, will it add on a big cost to my electricity bill?

The fan is the furnace fan. You can turn it to the on position and it will stay on all of the time. That would be easier on electricity than running the compressor. It won't cool the house very much, since the compressor won't run. good luck

h r is right,, that "little" fan will pull in hot outside air or just circulate the room air!! leaving your AC on will maintain a temperature that you can easily adjust when you return.. i.e. set the thermastat at 76 degrees then the AC will not have to work so hard to get the temperature down to a comfortable level again!! letting a house get real hot then using the AC will cost more than maintaining it!!!! the little fans in the AC are NOT I REPEAT NOT the same as running a regular fan!!

no the fan on the ac is like a normal fan you would plug into wall.....the compressor on an ac is what causes the massive power usage so not kicking it on and just running the fan will save a lot of money...but the downside is you will of course not be as kool.....

using the fan of the a\c unit may make the house hotter / depends on where the indoor unit is located / attic or crawl or basement / using a pedestal fan or table fan would my preferred method and cheapest / use the a\c on the unbearable days /

AC/DC. i like them, i do no longer hate One direction, yet i'd like them greater useful in the event that they found out to play some contraptions and stopped grabbing their non exsistant balls each and all the time.
