If the fight escalated to the point that you had to yell to calm them down is very concerning - especially with children involved. You can, as you expressed concern for the children, call Child Protective Services anonymously and discuss the situation. Nothing says you have to provide your neighbors info or yours - but a phone call may either validate or aleviate your concerns for the children. At best - that kind of fighting could be indicative of some emotional abuse of the children. Key word there is "could". Call from a pay phone so your call isn't traced back to you if you feel more confortable. Better to err on the part of caution and be wrong than to ignore the situation and have it turn out to be a significant concern.

Whenever you get concerned about kids, remember that they are innocent victims and cannot defend themselves - call the police and ask them to do a "well check" on the kids - there is nothing wrong with that at all! IF the police get more than a certain number of calls to the same location, they have to turn things over to a social worker.

You should have called the cops.. don't listen to people who say keep out of it. There are kids invovled and someone needs to be thinking about them when their parents are being idiots.
Next time call the cops.

Please expand your question, as I don't know what to tell you without more info. I, too, deal with neighborhood children that I am afraid will be hurt every day. We live in a nice neighborhood, but as we know it happens everywhere. Please give us more info, it will help in how to deal with it. Like, for instance, are the parents neglectful? Was the child in fear for his/her life? Mostly, what are the parents like?
