These are the cutest puppies but I have 2 cats that are a year old. I don't want to get a puppy if they won't like each other.

well, your cats and dog may never be buddy-buddy b/c that's just the way things are...but it's possible that since both the cats and the dog are young, they would probably get along ok.

If you start with a puppy, they will like each other. There may be some temperamental behavior by the cats a first, or maybe not. The puppy of course will want to play with the cats whether they feel like it or not, but the cats will train him. In the end they will get along, and most likely be friends.
Don't be alarmed if the dog chases the cats; they will soon find out that he's not dangerous, and they will only run if they want to. Sometimes one of my dogs barks at the cat while the cat hisses and bats at the dog. They are playing.
It's true Lhasa Apsos are fierce and protective, and insist on strict protocol in meeting new animals or people. But if they are half poodle, they should be more friendly. And if you start with a puppy, it will be fine with the cats.

A lady had to go to the nursing home and wanted me to keep her lhasa apso, he was about 5 years old. Lucky was spoiled to death.

I had 6 grown cats. In my house, he knew he was out numbered. My cats gave him a little bit of trouble to start with. As in you're not part of the family.

But, they all ended up being one big family. As a matter of fact, Lucky decided he was a cat. He loved those cats more than anything.

One day I heard him barking like crazy. I looked outside and one of my cats was having kittens. Lucky was keeping the other cats away from her. He was acting as her guardian angel. If another cat got near, he ran it off. It was the sweetest thing that I've ever seen.

Lucky lived to be about 12 years old. He always hung out with the cats and I swear he didn't know that they were any different than him.

I have a Lhasa Apso dog who is going to be 10 years old in July, when I got her she was 12 weeks old and I had 5 cats who were about 2 years old each, she grew up with them and they all get along, they have their moments and argue about space with me from time to time but they all are a family. They sleep together on the sofa and on my bed, I sometimes think she thinks she is a cat or that they are just funny looking dogs. She has a particular friendship with one of them and they are really tight friends. She is a love with cats.

I had a Lhasa Apsoo Puppy when I was a teenager and she did not like cats, she would attack them and kill them if she could. She got attack and scratched by a cat when she was a puppy and she did not get along with cats after that.

I suggest that if you get a puppy (and already have a cat) slowly introduce them to each other and keep a watchful eye on them. I think that what a animal experiences when it is young will shape its attitude and personality as it ages.

So what is a Lhasapoo? Never heard of it. I have a Lhasa Apso dog that hates cats...and I have tried and tried to get her trained to not hate cats, but she does. I swear if one of them entered my yard, and I did not restrain her, she would kill it in 2 seconds. If your Lhasapoo is part Lhasa, I would keep it away from cats for sure.

depends on their personality. IMPORTANT TIP: HOLD YOUR CAT AND DOG ON OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE ROOM ON A LEASH AND LET THEM BARK AND HISS AT EACH OTHER FOR AS LONG AS THEY WANT BUT THEYLL EVENTUALLY GET TIRED OF IT AND IGNORE EACH OTHER.
