What do you think of Meg Ryan's recent complaints that there is absolutely NO BENEFIT to fame?

Meg Ryan has spoken out about her experience of being famous, revealing she believes there is "no upside to fame".

The actress has become disenchanted with her status, and admits that the positives people usually cite are not necessarily worth the price of being in the public eye.

"When I first because famous, it was kind of traumatising, actually," she said. "You just constantly feel like you're getting hit. I would say there's no real upside to fame. No really measurable one. There's money, but that doesn't necessarily come along with fame. People always say that they can get dinner reservations, but come on - you could always figure out some other way to dinner reservations."

Do you agree or not? To what extent?

Not being a celebrity, I can only state my opinion: I agree that there must be awful pressure that comes with fame, it must be a nightmare being stalked by paparazzi and not being able to burp without it being in the paper.

BUT... to say there's no benefit at all to fame is utterly ridiculous. Sorry. I know wealth isn't happiness, but nonetheless, to argue that every single aspect of that lifestyle is bad strikes me as a lot of whining rubbish from someone who has forgotten what it is live in 'the real world'.

That said, Meg Ryan has a lot more experience of fame than I do. LOL!! Who knows, maybe she was just having a bad day?

Then I would say to old Meg, give back your million dollars home and your fortune and move to the san fernando valley and rent an apartment like the rest of us poor people who work with you and bow to your every need on film sets. Indeed you have no use for fame! ha ha ha ha ha!

I think maybe she just wasn't enjoying it, I think things won't going her way, like maybe she didn't like the people she work with, the jobs she was getting. I think she was to busy looking at the downside that she forgot to look for the upside. I think in show biz for some people it's going to be bad and for others good.
