This is easy. My wife & I were sitting around doing nothing...I said, "do you want to have sex" she said "sure". 9 months later we had something & then we he turned into a teenager & I ask him what he is doing...all he ever says is "nothing"!

Well Picture it in your mind and see what happens :) The universe you create in your mind will work under the rules that you feel are governing it. That is to say if your universe turns into a big bang like event then it probably means you believe the big bang theory. If it turns into something else maybe it means you believe in something else. Its a risky thought experiment to reflect on because once you give the meaning to something you might not be able to understand your logic can go all kinds of wierd. Basicaly dont believe your own hype untill youv had time to think about it lol. Total empty space next thing of your choice existing add some time and watch it grow. This experiment is obv flawed but it does give perspective.

There is no such thing as a nothing, for a nothing is a state of being, a state of existance, a state of a matter or thing, so a nothing is really a something only that something is really nothing, zero, none.

who are we to say there was every nothing? is this something we/you need to believe, is the concept of there always of being something to hard to think about? we only know this world we are in now, and perhaps some of us might remember a past life on this world,,,,, and that is how it should be, i think,,, otherwise it would distract us from our task at hand,,, to live this life here
ps: to me its like, if you are making dinner, focus on that,,,, if you get too caught up in thinking about breakfast tomorrow,, or lunch yesterday,,, or how lunch came to be lunch,,, you are going to not make your dinner nicely , if you let your thoughts run off too far,, you might burn it,,,, or undercook it

Nothing is something, it just isn't matter. All things are energy.
