If you think that President Bush is doing a good job as President, why?
(I'm trying to understand what you all see in this President)

To the person that wants me to write an essay on what is wrong with the Bush Presidency, well, I think I could spend a lot of time on that subject. But I have this feeling that even if I wrote it at a Harvard University level, it would not be intelligent enough for you. So I hope you enjoyed the two points because that's all you're going to get from me.
In a nutshell. Economy is not doing great. Very unethical situation relating to a President who made his money in oil and a war that is primarily about securing financial prosperity for a few people. Secondly, you keep people in fear of terror by continuing to mention terror. Our deficit is at an all-time high, and the tax breaks really have not created the jobs, unless you consider service sector work good for the economy.

Good on the Economy
Great job dealing with 911 aftermath
Bad on illegal immigration and border enforcement
Iraq is messy, but we must succeed, prevail in getting that government self sustaining
War on Terror OK, battle in Iraq is messy, Afghanistan going better, killed a lot of Al queda would lkie to see more aggressive diplomacy with Pakistan, saudi, Syria and Iran
Supreme Court nominees.. AWESOME
Bad job on restraining the beast of Federal Spending, has let all discretionary spending to go up in double digits past six years
Its not a yes or no answer. Like ,ost people he has pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses
ADD: Service Sector IS our economy, Doctors Lawyers Police Computer Techs etc are all service sector.
So much for you writing at a Harvard Level.
The economy is doing great. Government spending is a SEPERATE issue.

Yes, aside from the recent events of home grown terrorism he and his cronies have kept us safe. My only disappointment is that he has not made it clear enough to the unbelieving masses. He should make at least bi-weekly speaches telling of recent thwarted episodes. People need to know how many live have been saved and then perhaps they would have a greater appreciation.
I believe as a President he is doing a good job. But I think he needs better PR to the people he represents.
EDIT:
"isn't it just fascinating - you ask a simple question - asking bush supporters to articulate why they think the way they do.
and all you get are talking points repeated and insults.
bush supporters must all be in therapy by the looks of things... "

-Lower taxes
-Economy doing great
-Jobs at all-time high
-Great ideas that are getting squashed by democrats because they are so good that they are scared republicans will be able to take credit for them (like SS reform).
-Acceptable response to 9/11. I am 100% convinced that if 9/11 happened on 9/11/98 that Clinton would have just been relieved that his personal life no longer dominates the headlines, and at BEST he would have lobbed a couple of cruise missles at Afghanistan and just ignored them after that and act like it didn't happen after that.

You go first. I want to see if you have the intellectual capacity to articulate your position regarding President Bush.
For every intelligent paragraph that you write, I'll write five.
Get to work, and I'll see you in a few years.

For three reasons:
1. The economy is very strong.
2. The unemployment rate is very low.
3. You're not wearing a burqua.
