Your name caught my eye....it's the same as my daughters.
I don't think or believe for one minute that teenagers aren't aware of the crimes they commit. They are completely aware, they just don't know what the law is, if and when. they get caught.? Neither do they know the severity of the law.
That pathetic over used excuse of " I was abused" Doesn't work for me........I, as a child from the age of 5 was abused in every imaginable way possible...........I'm 68 I have never killed anyone, never robbed anyone , never knowingly hurt anyone physically, perhaps mentally some ...we all do that.!
So what causes some to do crimes and some not.? I think it's because of peer pressure and know having any of the characteristics to make for a good citizen or PERSON. They do it because they can! With none of the following things below to guide them.
You must be born with them, at least I was.
Character, morality, common sense and refusal to participate with satan!

I don't believe that most young teens ARE unaware that they have committed a crime. In the case of some, they are amoral. They have had NO moral training or because of chemical imbalances, abuse, or psychological problems they have no conscience.
