Effects of war on the teenagers of today:
1. blase attitudes to stress, and no deisre to be 'doing one's duty' to God and the country. Call that lack of Patriotism
2. pathetic desires to be 'comfortable', and 'entertained' ,while others are in grave danger
3. ridiculous idealism that says that one country should leave all others alone
4. desensitization by video games and other media in the area of violence and despair, which will result in violence of all kinds all over the place, instead of violence aimed correctly at an enemy.

You actually believe that you're an OK writer? Ok. TeeHee!!! Here's a thought for you.....since you're obviously already online typing part of the paper you need to type anyway, and it's a paper based on facts only it would seem, the internet would be a fantastic place to look up your information & put on paper! Hey, use a large font!
Geez, start with the fact that the Haliburton Corporation (Cheney's company...you know him? Vice President?) has actually forced the people of this gas rich nation where oil at least used to pour from the taps like water is now imported, priced well over $1. per litre where it's never exceeded approx 5 cents before, and the queues (lines..) at the petrol stations to buy this now rare commodity exceeds over 4 hours.......hey, try the news!!!

You have only two pages to write so you absolutey must stay focused. Make this assignment very personal . Write your last sentence first . " I wonder if this war lasts much longer if I will be drafted and what will happen to me as a result"
Now that you know where you are going ,all you have to do is figure out how to get there

Don't blame the subject English, blame the teacher. And for war stuff, try talkin about politics, social problems, inflation (prices go up), etc.

Clearly you missed an important point. AP classes have a very strict curriculum. You are signing on for that curriculum when you sign on to get the "free" college credit. Sorry that the world didn't spin your way, dude.
