This website: http://www.beliebte-vornamen.de/alle_jahre.htm gives you a list of the 100 most used girls and boys names in Germany since 1890 (you need to scroll down a little, weiblich/Mädchen/Frauen = female names, männlich/Jungen/Männer = male names). If you click on the years on the left hand side (underneath 'alleJahre') then you can see the most common names for each year separately. For instance here: http://www.beliebte-vornamen.de/2007.htm are the most common names for 2007 so far. Obviously the earlier years give you some more traditional names.
The top 10 of the overall list are:
Girls: Ursula, Karin (Carin), Helga, Sabine, Ingrid, Renate, Monika (Monica), Susanne, Gisela, Petra.

go to www.dogpile.com then put in the search box babynames and then you got a whole website of names. you can get greman names, italian, and even pick out a name that has a meaning. its great. try it.
