It's irritating, yes,... but some calls MUST be taken. I understand that.

What *I* find particularly annoying as hell are the people who will stop in the middle of the aisle way to answer their phone and carry on a full conversation while blocking the aisle in the grocery store or shopping center. And then they look at YOU as if you're bothering THEM because you want to get through to do your shopping.

I was once in the middle of being waited on at an auto parts store, when the only person at the counter answered the phone when I was in "mid-order"....instead of putting the person on hold for a moment, she went ahead and took care of the phone customer and left me with my thumbs up my .....

I HATE that! I now just walk away when that happens. One time I actually left in the middle of a job interview when my interviewer did that to me. I GOT the job, after complaining to her manager. Sometimes it does pay to get even!

It depends...if they check and see who it is and then say excuse me I need to take this call then no, but if they just whip out the phone and answer it..yes.

If they have an extended conversation, it does. A quick message here or there doesn't bother me.

It depends, if they don't say excuse me & just up & answer their phone , then I feel like maybe I should just wander away without saying anything either!
